Andrés Anaya Isaza

Dr. Andrés Anaya Isaza, known as Dr. AndresAI, is a Colombian artificial intelligence scientist, engineer, inventor, professor and entrepreneur based in Medellín. He has been building artificial intelligence for 17 years.

He holds a PhD Cum Laude in Bioengineering and Artificial Intelligence from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and master’s degrees in Computer Engineering and in Machine Learning. His research on deep learning for medical imaging is published in Q1 journals such as IEEE Access and Elsevier titles, with more than 700 citations on Google Scholar. In scientific literature he publishes as Andrés Anaya-Isaza.

He is the inventor of the first Colombian patent for artificial intelligence applied to radiomics, in computational oncology (WO 2023/139570 A1): a system that characterizes lung tumors using pixel distance and deep learning. In 2018 he co-founded INDIRA Healthtech, part of Indigo Holding, whose artificial intelligence for early cancer detection operates in 17 countries.

Today he is the founder and CEO of LAIT, an Enterprise AI Operation: it turns business processes into processes operated by artificial intelligence, in a way that is secure, measurable, auditable, sound and autonomous, on its own infrastructure and with the same millimetric standard as early detection.

His work detects lung cancer, brain tumors, COVID-19 lesions, malaria parasites, diabetic foot through thermography and masses in mammograms.
